Anyone know how to set up a cylindrical falloff so that I can use the move brush to shape the edges of a flat plate with thickness such that the falloff does not change through the thickness? This would be a big help.
Thanks,
Tom

slider at the top…focal shift. move that to 100 and you should be good.
that doesn’t make it a cylinder that goes forever in a scene though…it simply makes the sphere “solid” so it depends on how thick the object is.
Really appreciate the quick reply. I was not designing for awhile and I just got your response.

OOpps! I tried it and does not do what I am looking for. I am not really a rank beginner so this question is a little harder than it looks:
I want to sculpt the boundaries of a flat plate in the x and y but not Z.
I still need FALLOFF in the x and y but not Z. Does anyone know how to do this? This would be the equivalent of an infinite cylinder along the z axis with falloff for moving/sculpting in the x and y. I have some very flat objects I want to push and pull around to shape and do not want a sperical falloff at all or a sharp edged circle with no falloff.
Thanks,
-Tom
