Cyborg Character model

Hello All,

I wanted to share some recent character work I have been doing with all of you. I am relatively new to ZBrush and new to this forum. This cyborg model is only my 4th attempt at using ZBrush. But here in this post you will find a finished cyborg model along with some Max renders, and to start off with a close up of his head and then, some of the conceptual work that I did for the project. Some of the renders are without textures so that you can better see the details of the model/sculpture.

In the world of ZBrush this really is not a very high resolution model at all. Even after going out and buying an extra 512 mg of Ram, bumping me up to 1Gig, I was still constantly running up against the limitations of my hardware. So at this resolution I was unable to model anything more than the top half of his body, which only contains about 280 thousand polys, not including his implants and other paraphernalia. If I had a more powerful machine I would be using upwards of 2 million polys to model his entire body.

Very nice. Thanks for posting your process too.:+1:

Impressive work  I love the model and last render

PolyPusher: Extremely cool model. The interface between skin and metal is very nicely done. The chipped paint texture on the minigun looks realistic.
The spine and bandoleer are very well done as well.

I dig the body and face modelling a lot. Especially like the folds of skin where his chest and shoulder meet. The grim expression is well done and looks like he means business.

I find this piece inspiring, Bro! Bravo…

Great Work…

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated. I’ve really enjoyed learning ZB these past few weeks, and this particular character was lots of fun to do…

I am glad you feel inspired Dickie, I think that’s what a community like this is all about; looking at what other people are doing and getting new ideas and inspiration for your own work. I know that a big part of the reason why I’ve joined this forum is because I’ve been greatly inspired by all the great work thats been posted here.

Thanks again for your feedback.

That’s a great looking model and the explanation of the modelling process is very interesting too. Even without the texturing it looks very impressive

Really nice job… I like how you added some bump to the top of the head to make it look like it was swollen where you have the metal cap. It looks painful to look at…

awsome work !!!top row !!!

i started an organic figure a while back with spine and legs of robot nature
i have the zsphere tool somewhere i think its time to open up that can of worms again

again awsome work :+1: :+1: :+1:

Cool model. I like the back from the second last picture. The abdominal muscle are a little bit strange.
good work.

Wonderful Model. Personally, I love the untextured version it looks really cool

Cool concept, modelling and final renders. Thanks for show us your workflow for this fella.

I have one little nitpicky thing that probably only bugs a nut like me…its the seam on the texture on the cylinder closest to the bicep on the gun hand. For some damn reason my eye went right to it …which just makes me crazy I reckon, but it took away from the rest of the great stuff you have going on for me. No biggie really…like I said…great job!!! and I am nuts!!

Really great job, your skills are awsome, PP :+1:

superb!! I love it

great stuff man !!!:sunglasses: :+1:

Impressive and well realized!!:+1:

Excelente, Poly pusher. Ganaría en realismo si le dibujaras los pezones.
