Custom UI question

So I’ve been building a custom UI and put small buttons for brush stroke alpha etc. But these buttons don’t act like the default ones. If I change my brush via shortcut keys it doesn’t change to reflect that like the bigger one does. Is there anyway to have the functionality of the default buttons but at the smaller scale? They really hog up a lot of room.

Thanks :stuck_out_tongue:

If you make a small brush button part of your custom interface then if you press it the brush will be selected. If you press the button again, or the brush is already selected, you will get the brush pop-up. The button will then change to reflect the brush you selected. You can change the size of the small buttons by turning off Preferences>Interface>Wide Buttons

Thanks Marcus. But I already have the wide buttons turned off. I also know that if I click it and choose from the popup it will change.

I noticed if I mouse over the large brush icon in the brush pallet it says “current brush” where the others do not, simply their name.

My request is to have a small version of the “current brush” button, so if I change my brush using a hotkey (B S T for standard for instance) the UI Reflects this.

It seems there is a small version in the popup window when pressing spacebar, but I cannot figure out how to get that on the main UI.

Not sure if this is what you mean.

not really, I already know I can do that. With that you need to either click the brush icon, or add multiple icons.

But with the large icon, the one that is on the left of the standard UI, if I change my brush via shortcut keys, it updates to reflect this. With the small icons, if you change your brush using shortcut keys, they just become deselected, then I have to press spacebar to see what brush I have selected (or look in the brush palette)

Since I use hotkeys for most of my brushes, when I come back from a break there’s no way to see what brush I have selected without either pressing a key, or having the gigantic button on my interface, I just want a smaller version of that button :stuck_out_tongue:
