I’m really big into having my own custom UI elements on my screen. For some reason one of the elements i want the most, the symmetry buttons( [ X ] [ Y ] [ Z ], will dissappear once I restart Zbrush. Even after I store config and save config.
Is there a reason why these buttons won’t stay in my custom UI, but everything else will???
Some interface items only appear when 3D models are selected and can’t be added to a custom interface. These include the symmetry buttons and all the model options in the Tool palette such as subtools.
In the case of the symmetry buttons you could record a macro. You can move the macro button to your custom interface. You can record macros for any action that you do often. (It is possible to edit macros in a text editor to extend their behaviour - they use the ZBrush scripting language, zscript. For example the attached macro will toggle Y symmetry on and off.)
Alternatively you could assign hotkeys to the buttons so that you don’t need them on your interface.
