CurveTubesnap brush - editing the curve

So with an insert mesh brush and curve turned on, you can go back and edit the curve in the middle re-forming the contours. You look for the little red handle somewhere in the middle and then redraw that portion returning to the curve and it re-creates just that portion.

With the curve tube snap and curve tube brushes I can’t seem to edit that way. Every now and then when I was playing with it it would work but I don’t know why, I’ve played with the snap distance and the pick Z settings and that doesn’t seem to help.

Any thoughts?

I get to answer all my questions here… Oh well…

So no you cant…

But you can draw the curve using something like curve standard with add/sub off and color off… edit as needed and later switch to curveTube and click on it and it turns into curve tubes

Why would I want to do this? Because I’m fitting a zillion nerves and arteries to surfaces - going from some starting point (say the foramen spinosum to the orbicularis oris), and when you draw it from that start to finish, there are places where gaps in the muscles screw it up, and fixing just that segment with “as line” is awesome…
