CurveTube Snap not working correclty

Hi,

I recently run into trouble with the curve tube brush. I want the curve to follow the underlying surface, so I turn snap on. However, either only the first point snaps on the surface or only a portion of it snaps correclty to it. Most of the time I don’t see any difference when this option is turned on or off.

Does anybody know what my problem is?

I guess you refer to the standard brush called curvetube and not to a brush called curvetubesnap that I don’t know. I say that because there are some curve brushes called snap at the end. By default the curvetube has not snap full lenght, in order to achieve an specific effect. If you want to add snap you can play with the settings of the stroke - curve - snap and also curve modifier - curve projection range. I guess that perhaps other settings could help but with this two you can start to change the behavior of the brush.

To get the curve tube brush to stick to the surface of your mesh you need to go to the Picker pallet. And then choose Cont Z instead of the default Once Z.
