I’ve learned a lot about the Curve Tube Brush, but the simplest thing is eluding me: how the heck do you draw one tube after another without their linking together? I’ve watched tutorials and no one mentions this, yet I see it done. I’ve been using the Curve Tube Brush to create flyaway strands of hair, and it has been a bit of a bother. I cannot model multiple strands close together because they join together unless I Ctrl Click to mask the rest. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Katherine,
After you draw one tube, click once on the underlying mesh to delete the curve, then draw your next tube. etc. etc.
If you want to create duplicates of a certain tube, turn off ‘Bend’ in the ‘Stroke’ palette ‘Curve’ section, press the 5 key to snapshot the curve, then grab the curve to move the duplicate tube. You can keep pressing the 5 key and doing this as many times as you want.
Thank you. I have read and re-read the documentation, watched several videos several times and failed to grasp this. You’ve been very helpful.
No problem, your welcome.
