Very nice!! great pose…

There’s juste a little thing on the abs, they have some weird proportions, a bit too low and too slim…
I could hardly find refs, but just for idea (even if those guys are body builders…)
Coul the torso/stomac area be a bit long?

I think because he’s arching his back, and standing on his feet. It’s exposing more of his stomach. So I think the abs look normal, but you could shorten the lower back by 2 inches maybe.

This isn’t the traditional pose for crucifiction. Christ is usually shown hanging from his hands. Where as here, he looks like he is standing up and has back pain.

Are you doing Christ on the cross? I’ve always wanted to try doing Christ, but lack the talent to give it a try.

I think a more weathered, and aged looking cross would look better. Something like old drift wood? Maybe make the nails longer so they look like they were driven in hard, and long.

I can’t wait to see it finished!

Great Job. I like it a lot. I would like do a Christ of the Cross too.

It’s really hard to make crits to this, because one, the anatomy can be stylized as depictions of this subject often has is. Two, so many distortions of the body took place because of the crucifixion.

I like the lower abdomen a lot because crucifixion is a form of suffocation of torture was suffocation and looks like it pulls a bit. He is having some trouble breathing.

My only critiques are the back of the heels seem long.

awesome work. I really like this one

Sebcesoir…special thanks for your guides !..youre true, its too long...ill fix it in the next update…

mustan9…thank you ! its a half pose, and ill change the pose with some twist to his body...ill change the cross to an aged cross, its better

AVTPro…thank you !..

.:ZIS:…thank you !..

i`ll take some photograph from my friend for adaptation of the body…

updated with some changes…i dunno which cross is better, first or this one
any comments are wellcome…

It’s looking good. I like this new cross more. The foot rest probably needs the most work at the moment. :+1:

Great Work!

Firstly I want to congratulate you on a great piece of work.

Now for a little crit… if i may!?

I believe that the success of crucifiction as a method of execution is due to the poor soul hanging from his arms (as someone mentioned earlier) resulting in eventual asphyxiation.

Wikipedia reference which might help you capture the greusome nature of the event:

A theory attributed to Pierre Barbet holds that the typical cause of death was asphyxiation. He conjectured that when the whole body weight was supported by the stretched arms, the condemned would have severe difficulty inhaling, due to hyper-expansion of the lungs. The condemned would therefore have to draw himself up by his arms, or have his feet supported by tying or by a wood block. Indeed, Roman executioners could be asked to break the condemned’s legs, after he had hung for some time, in order to hasten his death.[15] Once deprived of support and unable to lift himself, the condemned would die within a few minutes.

well there are a few things wrong with the story about jezus anyway.

nails in the hand can’t support the body…so hence the ropes.
anyway read this if you want to be picky ( http://bandoli.no/crucifiction.htm)…but…but) the 3d shown is basicly based on the biblical version.
and i do like it…i’d say…“he got it nailed” the foothold needs abit of work tho…same style as the cross would be best…crued woodshoppin style

Very great! :+1:

The new version looks great! The texturing on the wood looks a little stretched or something. As if the UV mapping isn’t relaxed correctly.

Lots of talk about the technical details of crucifixion and how it was performed.

It depends greatly on the artist if they are trying to depict a scene based upon modern theories, or if the image is an artistic depiction of a crucifixion.

People who have been painting images of Christ’s crucifixion have done many different versions over the centuries.

It’s really up to the artist. What he thinks captures his subject best.

trybal…thank you !..its in progress…
