crlt-c and ctrl-v

Why not a cut&paste (ctrl-c and ctrl-v) on ZBrush?
Well, here is my ideas on such function within Z:

  1. Capture ‘volume’ using a tool like MRGBZGrabber
  2. The captured object can be viewed as:
    a) a true 3D object (i.e. a cube with one face like the the canvas grabbed) or/and
    b) a group of pixols which can be positioned with gyro
  3. Should be possible save and load the copied object
In this way we can ‘copy’ layer and, if this function works on active 3D objects, ‘copy’ part of object too.
I can’t express correctly my ideas :(, but i hope you understand me.

What do you think?

'Cu’t an object + background is not so evident !

And the “Clone” function exist
Pilou

When an object is active the background is not used
The background is always flat…you build depth when drawing
And clone do not allow to save…

Thanks Frenchy.

I am trying to understand what you mean so bear with me if I am completely wrong.

If you draw a cube, let’s say, and then grab it up you have both the alpha and the texture. If I am getting your idea right…could you not then create a mini script that could use ctrl c/v to…take the alpha, make it a 3d object that then could be “pasted” redrawn whereever you choose?
