Creatures from Planet 8

started this elk deer study a few weeks back and thought some of you might be interested in seeing my process. Always start with the underlying structure. in this case the skeleton. and on top of that I’ll study the muscle groups and skin etc.

hope it’s helpful and u enjoy it.

have this idea in my mind for quite some time and today started working on it. it’s still a work in progress and there are a lot of areas to work on.

just tohught would be cool to keep u guys up to date.

The Arnodyr is a mix between human and deer.

You make the fantastic and unusual very natural .
you definitely have a new fan . :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

is he (Chamois_Pose_02) jumping over a log and (black demon) poo? ALL of these are AMAZING!!! GREAT WORK!!!

@mygmalion thanks man really appreciate it

@skinnybonez thanks for ur comment man! haha well the Chamois is jumping over a log and the “black demon poo” are just lil rocks. thanks a lot dude great u like my work.

well I am still working on the Arnodyr in my free time and I thought some of you might be interested in a new Update. So here it is.

To get into the character and to “feel” the character I came up with a quick 1h mood painting using Polypaint and Keyshot + a great HDRI image I found on the web.
The rest is photoshop magic.

Oh and sorry for the low res
- this is just a study. The final version will be HD I promise!

here is a screenshot I did showing u guys the rough polypaint using HD images from flickr.

Here is another chamois study I did a few weeks back. The last one of the chamois for this time.
I will def go back and do some more of these movement studies etc but for now I have a lot
of freelance work to do so I will to go back to do more animal studies after I find some more free time.

hope u enjoy.

created this deer sculpture while stying their anatomy back in July. I learned a lot and had some fun creating a quick environment for the deers.

timelapse video:

hope u enjoy watching the timelapse video.

helping a good friend, Benjamin Donnelly, with some Fox Anatomy for his Stop Motion short film to help understand the skeleton system and later on the muscle system of the fox.

Video Animation Test: https://vimeo.com/<wbr>156138529

The video you’ll see at the end of this post was created before I jumped on board and helping with some Anatomy. Hope you enjoy watching it.

you can download the HD version (3800x2132 px) here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/NggPP

here is a fox skeleton diagram I did for Benjamin Donnelly and Sarah Capon to help them understand the fox skeleton system for their short film.

Thought it also would be helpful for you guys so you can download (3800x2132 px) the diagram and use it as reference for your own studies! Hope it’ll help.

did this quick 1h deer study last month just as a practice and to learn a bit more about these beautiful animals.

here is the link to the youtube timelapse video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy3EJVM25Xc

hope u enjoy it.

A few months back I sketched that flying cat on my Ipad Pro and Paintstorm Studio and after I checked out my files and saw that concept again
I decided to do a quick 3D version of it. changed some things while I sculpted the guy in 3D.

Anyway what I also like to mention is as soon as you understand the anatomy of the reallife animal - in this case the big cats -
it is so f**** easy to manipulate certain areas to get a cartoony look.

hope u like it guys

sketch I did a while ago

Abandoned - After All

started this side project a few weeks ago to simulate a big sci-fi film project and learning more about
how to approach this kind of project as a creature designer by starting with quick shape exploration before jumping into ZBrush and trying to find a good design.

I used different shapes from my explorations to create that big creature which will destroy big cities, skyscrapers and that kind of thing.

more to come so stay tuned guys. I hope u like it so far.
