Alex Oliver
you bastard! you beat me to it. i always wanted to model ranx but never got around to it. Really nice job man. i love Liberatore and you did him justice. The only thing missing is him ultra-violently beating on someone! haha.
again great stuff!
Congratulations, gioNak. Very good pose and the similarity of Ranxerox. Are you going to recreate a comic vignette? I look forward to see it finished.
Goobatastic: Carlos’ works are huge inspiration to me, as I am sure with many people. Out of curiosity, can you show me which of his design is “very close” to the bat
creature? It may very well be the case, since I’ve someetimes created something
and found out that i’ve inadvertently made a carbon copy of, say, a
Steve Wang design or something. I always try to give credit to artists whose works I’m
basing my 3D studies on.
thank you roger!
eof3D: thank you very much
cbostjan: thanks!
selwy: thanks! i love a lot of the stuff you have on your site. great works man.
thanks very much Alex!
robbiestyle: hah! you snooze you lose! Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad
you think I did him justice. I’ll keep working on it…I still need to really pop dem
forms out…and yeah, him beating someone to a pulp would be a fun diorama to do!
saltapiedras: it would be fun, but what I really want to do is to try and build a ranxerox
that talks. eversince i heard chris cunningham was to direct a movie based on
this character, i’ve always wanted to see a super believable cg version of this
guy just talking. that would be insane!
Great work on Ranx! Keep it up!
i really enjoy your work ! i learn alot…
Giovanni? The Italian modeler??? I’m you fan!!!
Seriously, kickass work Gio. Inspiring as always. I’m so impressed I’ll pay for the coffee today
Keep rocking dude,
-Kris
ps.: btw, he looks sad. Did he kill someone?
ps2.: this thread not having 5 stars is a mystery to me. People like me can learn so much from your sculpts.
thanks skull_monster! thats the biggest compliment
kris: i’ll only let you pay for coffee if you’ll also pay for my croissant
thanks for the kind words man. yes, he is sad to have killed so many in his life. he’s looking off in the distance picturing a part of his past when he was once innocent. if you zoom really really close to the eyes, i tried to model slight tears…tears which reflect his sad soul.
okay, its all BS…heheh. you got me!
here’s a modo render of my updated sculpt. trying to have fun with it
Awesome, you have this ability to give your models a very clear reading of the bones/skeleton and weight of the flesh … beautiful/amazing work !
impressive ! looks so real !
yes!! looks so real!!really perfect anatomy !
Alex Oliver
WOW, really a nice sculpt so far!!! really like it!
This Ranxerox looks awesome! Can’t wait to see you finish him!
Awesome sculpting and I love the pose.
truly AWESOME!
Lucky: thank you! looks like all that sculpting in clay is paying off! hehe
thanks skull!
merci alex. i don’t know if i’d call it perfect (still lots of issues with certain things)…but hey, if you say it is, i’d gladly take it man
wethand: thanks!
ja_popov: thank you! i’m diggin the pose too. i’m glad you like it.
thanks for the compliments everyone!
the shape lock is… as usual awesome… let him talk.
Those are really awesome works for me, really like the sense of sculpting and lighting
