creatures and schtuff

love the oldman you did ! great forms and wrinkles !

cool

Hi gioNak! Again, a strong quick study, thanks for posting. How long does it take you to make a quick study? Do you start from scratch or do you re-use an older sculpt? btw, I read Ben’s post regarding the DVD: I’m really lookin’ forward to seeing you at work. A few months back I purchased Andrew Cawre’s Male Anatomy sculpt V3, definitely boosted my drawing and sculpting, you guys at Anatomytools really know how to teach classic craftsmanship! Your sculpts are proof of that :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: !

i remember seeing your before.
every sculpt is becoming better and better.astig! :+1:

Hey Looks cool man… I hope this is WIP, expecting more detail on it

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Etcher: to answer your question, i try not to take longer than 3 hours on these studies. the old man was a bit longer since it was also a study for wrinkles. if i like a study, i’d work on it for a couple more days…like the orc below.

regarding the dvd, i can’t wait to see it too (done that is) heheh…i’d be glad once i’m at that point. but yeah, i am incredibly honoured to be a part
of anatomytools’ gallery. i hold them in the highest regard.

Very cool Gio - 3 hours just on sculp or paint aswell ?

look great - skin on old dude is pretty sick :+1:

Hi gioNak, thank you for answering my question (I didn’t sculpt much prior to using Zbrush and I always get the feeling I’m spending way to much time on a sculpt - sometimes it’s so different from drawing or painting).

The orc bust turned out really great imo, it somehow has a painterly, loose feeling to it, but then again, it also has superb detail where needed! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: ! Lookin’ forward to the next!

Aweosme paint, great job, nice light color choice

great work , love them

food: since i decided to flesh the orc some more, he’s more than a 3 hr study.

etcher: thanks! i like the fact that you think it has a painterly feel.

thanks nellement and barbarossa!

here’s a very work in progress creature i’ll be working on…

hey man ! im working on a vampire too ! keep it up pleas !

The forms you produce(even in simple sketches) flow very naturally. You’re one of the few CG dudes that make 3d look traditionalish

Great looking stuff, as usual!

So Gio, is Thursday the only day of the week you don’t have energy for extra sculpting after work?

I’ve always been a big fan of your work ! Very inspiring stuff , looking for some more ! :+1:

Incredible !!! amazing stuff in here, good job.

Awesome work Gio! Sculpting on a Thursday night, why would anyone want to do that, insanity!

I always enjoy the organic, natural feeling of your sculpts! :+1:

skull_monster: your vampire is turning out to be quite an awesome one! sadly for mine, i’ve lost interest heheh. perhaps i’ll come back to it sometime.

iatriki: thank you kind sir!

Headcrash: I’ve slacked majorly. I will start going to sculpting again though since I cannot wait to see the new digs

thank you guillom!

Ichiban: thank you!

jakerton: sometimes its the only thing that keeps my sanity! hehe

thanks very much Intervain!

Here’s a new model I’ve been playing around with. He’s pretty much a maquette for a clay sculpt I might want to do. I’ve recently been re-introduced to the works of Tanino Liberatore…more specifically his
Ranxerox character. Here’s my take on it:

The bat like model is definately very close to the concept of Carlos Huante.
