Simply amazing …
…Great Hellboy , Ralf …and he’s a spitting image of the “real” Mignola character and not a Ron Perlman type Hellboy !
And a fine WarTroll …like his hair…did not know that trolls had any…or is that just cave trolls ?

Wow, Ralf!
Scanned this thread looking for your Gray Clay, now I’m trying to get my jaw back in socket!
Hello, thanks for comments and kind words.
jantim, thanks I don’t know that trolls have no hair. But it looks right.
New update for the hellboy. I made a new topology, now it’s one part
and I have enough polys for the hair. The bust had now 1.5 mil polys
the old one had 2.5 mil. Next I made a pose for the head and some
changes of the mouth and maybe a new socket.
Hope you like it.
Cheers

man stump, I always love that clean style of yours.
You just show a really nice balance on your forms. The mix of angles and organic is sorta what make your style cool.
Keep up the good work. Love the Hell boy bust
Very nice work Ralph! I thought that just doing the horns would improve it, but the detail added to this makes it simply awesome! He looks meaner and more serious. Great work.
I have now made Hellboy my desktop wallpaper.
It would be nice to have a retopology tutorial from you Ralph. It’s great to see you nearly halve the polygons with this method.
Well done.
…still the “King of Clean” ,Ralf…and i agree with dustbin1_uk…do you have some insights into retopology or tips for the un-enlighted !
So the hair is no subtool…?
jantim
cannedmushrooms, dustbin_uk and jantim: Thanks for comments.
I’m busy in the moment with some jobs, so finishing the bust and a
little tutorial must wait. Making a new topology is a great feature in
ZBrush but I’m always go to Maya to fix some problems in the new
mesh and to close some holes like eyes and mouth. I use “project
all” to project the details from the older sculpt to the new one. There
always some “spikes” from the projection. You can patch this if you
set a “Morph Target” before you use “project all” and then use the
“morph brush” to paint the spikes away.
The bust with the hair is one part only the eyes are an extra subtool.

Thanks for the Info Ralph. Sounds like a good technique. I’ll have to head to the wiki to check out these features. Perhaps Cannedmushrooms can make us a video tutorial showing off this technique?
Awesome man, just awesome! I have to find some time from current projects, I had an idea that some of your work gave me focus on.
Love the hair, I looked at that several times, and it really looks wonderful.
OK, enough drooling, I have work to do…
Hi Ralf! Sorry, I missed yours latest Incredible Works! No words… five star for me!
wow,amazing work.
Awesome stuff! Would it be possible to post a close up of the hair on your troll? It’s looks fantastic!
beautiful sculpting as usual Ralf … and very great material
wow!
This looks really good! you just need to have a good texture for this character!!! I like your thread ! Cheers!
Siamak.
As usual top work Ralph. Would love to know how you made that chain. I take it you did not make it in ZBrush?
“Great looking model and presentation, Ralf !”…you should do a book or dvd on the way you use ZBrush,… could be a winner, me thinks !
jantim
…massive troll!
Coquetish with the sawing hair on the top
No colorisation?
