like, no.
Love, yes.

Ralf, you are a god among men where alphas are concerned…

And by the way, :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Etcher and writh: thanks!

calum5ZB: haha thanks, I don’t know how I can more explain this hard surface
modeling in ZBrush as I already done in this thread. It’s not a fancy trick it’s
more a concentrate work which starts in the lower levels to form these edges.

mdale13: thanks, a tutorial video is a lot of work and technical difficult.
Also I work in my personal projects mostly not in a straight line, it’s more
a middle chaos.

makkens: thanks, alphas are important in the end for the details but the
most important part of every work is the first hour or two when you define
the forms in the lower levels.

I made a new render of my Hellboy bust. With this I explore more the possibilities
of normal maps. Hope you like it.

Cheers

More great work Ralf,I guess id refer to this on your hard edge results then:
Quote:
For the hard edges I use different ways. In this case I build the most of the form
in a low level (80K polys) with the standard, clay, smooth and the move brush.
I try to do most I can in a level then I go one level further and refine the same parts
even more. I use the pinch brush mostly only in higher level (with a value of 10/-10).
Just as I use masks in higher level for things like bigger holes (mask and
deformation/inflate).

I was hoping for an easier route that you’ve not mentioned lol…My mouse skills leave hard edges looking kinda scruffy.Im going to try more on the alpha route after early form pushing as I missed that part previously…Thanks mate,
cal

wonderful work! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Great to see some new work from you Ralph, it’s just awesome !

I think Ralf doesn’t want us to see how he works… Making a zbrush sculpt is probably just as technical as making a video tutorial.  If someone paid you, I know that would be a different story. LOLOLOLOL

But Hey, No need to complain. I love your pictures that show your progress. Your work is inspirational. One of my favs here.

Thanks for sharing

hellboy is awesome man, i really like it, are you planning to print it?

Happy Easter!

It’s my tradition to model a fish at Easter. All ZBrush, body from ZSpheres
and fins from primitives. Hope you like it.
