Creating OBJ files with Normal Vectors

I am trying to use ZBrush to import OBJ files make some modifications and than store a modified OBJ file. ZBrush seems to be losing the normal vectors and usemtl lines from the imported OBJ file. What is going on? What I need is OBJ files with TRIANGLES only, normal vectors and UV texture coordinates. Is there any write up that explains how this works? I am using ZBrush 4R6. Is there a way to keep the LightBox from automatically appearing at launch?
