Create displacement with respect to other model

Hi,

I am new to zbrush, but starting to love the tool…

I have been painting some wrinkles on a model, and by mistake I started painting in the first subd level. Now when I calculate the displacement map, it gets computed with respect to this level-1 modified mesh. But I would like the displacement map to be created with respect to the original unmodified mesh.

I tried projecting the modified wrinkled model on top of the original mesh by using “project all”, but the first subd level gets modified too, so the displacement map is again not created with respect to the original mesh.

I tried xNormal to get a displacement map between the non-wrinkled and the wrinkled version, but I am getting poor results with it…

Is there a way to fix this? I have seen something about morph targets but I am not able to make it work.
Thanks!

I figured that the question is more simple:

Is there a way to project details from one model to other, but leaving subd level 1 unmodified?

For example, lets say I have model A and B, and wish to project model A subd 4 details to B subd 4 details, but leaving the subd level 1 of B untouched. Is this possible?

Thanks!

I just found that I had to swap to level one subd, and then import the base model again (after storing highest subd level as a morph target). So, problem solved, thanks!
