You’re moving right along. Looking good. I know what you mean about clothing. I haven’t done a character with clothing either.
When ZB3 hits the Mac I will tackle it then. I’m a new Maya modeler as well some to do it without subtools seems tedious to me.

I absolutely love the style of this character, and also another one that is similar that was posted in a different thread of yours.
I would love to see some sort of video or tutorial on how you did the nose and stylized features of the face.

I’d love to post a vid on my workflow, but unfortunately I’m stll learning my flow so it would make for a long crappy vid. i can tell you that i start with meshes in SILO and get the sharp edges by just beveling whatever i think should be sharp. i do a lot of cleanup with my mesh in ZBrush, knowing that i can use the retopo tools.
here’s my base mesh for this guy out of SILO…
didn’t get too far tonight. got some low-poly arms modeled tonight in SILO and did a little sculpting on them. hads are still in need of detailing…

Thanks a lot, industripop! I started messing around with Silo the other day and I like it a lot! I like being able to get exact vertex/edge/poly control as well as subd and brush features.
I want to try to work Silo in the workflow somehow, but it is difficult trying to get stuff to fit in the time constraints put on me by classes! Finishing school and needing to have a decent portfolio by the end of gets in the way of learning sometimes!
Again, this looks really good. Hope to have something like this I can be proud of.
You are killing me with this piece. I am blown away. I am going to wait to make any sort of comments until its finished but this is an incredible stand out piece for Zcentral.
It really stands out from the usual fair here and is oozing with character. I will be watching

cool styling for this character, the concept and back story are great. I always listen to my rabbit… he’s right almost all the time!, so he says.
quickie update. modeled the basic jersey/torso today. “Gus” coming next.
i cant wait to see the finished product!

got a chance to do a little work on this model today. cleaned up the jersey, added a little hand detail and the old school arm wrap. still not sure about the arm wrap. it was kind of an experiment.
I like the hand wrap, maybe a black cartoon line around the edges of the wrap would make it pop a little more.

yea… hard wrap gives a look to the character an interesting and catching look. are you goinig for more pics to show?

just wanted to drop my wires from silo on how “Gus the bunny” is going. Here’s a screenie from silo. i’m still learning to make proper base models, so i’m kind of happy with how quickly i was able to make this little guy. not really zbrush-work so please forgive me.
