Wow. Talk about technological advances… You can display graphics on my monitor without my graphics card:D Now if you are saying Zbrush uses a special software renderer, then I might understand…
Sorry I generally give more information, but as stated I just downloaded the trial and installed. So from reading other posts that would make it Version 3.1 and yes, its a new/clean install.
I have not increased the PreferencesMax polygon count or Compact Mem as I really do not know what they are yet.
As far as specific steps to duplicate. I can’t do that. Last night it was crashing on just about anything, no ryme or reason. Late last night I installed the latest Nvidia Drivers 182.08 and tonight I imported a OBJ model and hit subdivide and it crashed right off the bat. Restarted, called it back up and did the same thing, hit subdivide about 3 or 4 times, no crash. Ended up with a model at 5,397,920 poly and 5,422,857 points. I figured if anyhting it would croak then or slow down, nothing worked fine.
I will keep trying and if I can reproduce a specific set of commands I will, but for now it was really unexpected and I was going through tutorials, so did not notice a repeatable pattern (to new to software). The only thing I was NOT doing tonight was utilizing my other monitors.
I know several 3D cad programs that have issues with Mult-monitor, does Zbrush?
