crash when I hit Enter. Ugh.

Ok. So, like most everyone here, I love Zbrush. It’s a wonderful tool that does things that are just amazing. So what’s my beef? Well, can anyone tell me exactly why it is that so many times (not every time, mind you) that I go to save out ztl file, if I put in the name for the file and hit Enter, Zbrush crashes? This is such a bizarre little bug… I’m on a 3DBoxx from Boxx Tech with dual, qad core 3ghz Xeons and 8 gigs of ram running XP64… could it be XP64? It’s so weird… I never get the problem if I make sure to use my mouse and hit the save button, but I’m so used to just typing the name and hitting enter like I do in every other program that on occasion I do that in Zbrush and at least half the time it ends in anger and swearing. Help. Seriously. At least an explanation so I can understand. -Les

How are you getting to the save function in the first place? I have a hunch you’re using Ctrl+S, which has a known issue resulting in crashing. You should manually click the Save button instead. Better yet, use the Save button in SubTool Master and then assign a hotkey of your choice to that.

Actually I’m using Ctr+t to save a ztl file. It’s a really erratic bug too. Tried to replicate it a few times to see if I could figure anything out about it and it’s just a really random looking thing. I know there has to be some cause for it, but damned if I can find it. Anyway, it’s frustrating but not unworkable… just one of those little things that can be a royal downer when you just worked up something cool and thought you were going to save it just to have it gone. -Les
