Crash - load tool, save tool, help!!!!!!!!!!

When i try to load, save, import or export any ztool zbrush crashes. I have determined it is the CustomUserInterface35.cfg file. so i delete it, but every time i save a new config file the issues is back.

Are you running ZBrush 3.5 or ZBrush 3.5R2?

If R2, have you tried reinstalling?

I am having the same issues Precisionart. Anytime I try to save or import and use the “Look in” pulldown my Zbrush 3.5v2 crashes. I have tried to reinstal and nothing works. This crash also happens with Zbrush 3.5V1

I did delete the CustomUserInterface35.cfg file seem the only fix but now I can’t have a custom layout unless I manually load it EVERYTIME I launch Zbrush. I even tried to rename my saved custom layout to the same name but I still get the crash.

Have you found a fix for this yet? So mad!:mad:

I’m running R2 and have reinstalled. I wonder if we have something in common with our computers? I haven’t got this or the lazymouse issue resolved.

i am having this issue with R3. i am unable to import a new mesh created in maya it crashes and says

internal error .\system.ccp line 250

sorry, zbrush is unable to properly complete this function.

I switched to the R3 release and I am NOT having the crash issues after saving a custom interface like I was having with the R2 release. Hope it stays that way…

My first recommendation is to deactivate ZBrush, then reinstall it. If that does not resolve the issue, submit a support ticket and include the mesh that this is happening with. We’ll be able to test and see if we get the crash with our systems as well.

yep i also have the same command line.
i did a model in Zbrush v3.1
and now that i got R3 in the studio when i try to import the tool, it say that cant do it, line 250, and it close =(.

Please reinstall 3.5R3. In each case where our support team has encountered the issue you’re describing, it proved to be due to a corrupted installation. One user reported that he had to reinstall twice, but it did fix his problem.

I have reinstalled 3.5 R2 over and over and the issue never went away. Now that I am using 3.5 R3 the issue hasn’t come back. Whew!

What happens when the problem persists, I’ve reinstalled it multiple times. Same thing, Error Line 250 upon using anything from the Tool Palette. I’m running out of ideas, I can’t exactly switch much up during the install faze, trying now without plugins.

I had this same issue, The way I fixed it was to uninstall zbrush, then completely delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic folder and all its contents. Once that is done, restart and reinstall zbrush. This seems to fix the issue. I initially uninstalled zbrush withouth deleting the folder and kept having the same problem, so it is vital that the folder be deleted. Hope this helps:)

I had this same issue…I uninstalled 3.5 R3,then completely delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic folder and all its contents. Restart Windows.

The problem was still there ,waiting for me everytime when i load or save any tools .

For anyone experiencing this issue that is not fixed after doing a full reinstall, please do the following:

1) If you are running Windows 7, please turn off the file recovery option within ZBrush’s preferences.

2) If you are running a different OS, or that still doesn’t resolve the issue, please provide your complete system specs.

Windows Vista x64 with SP1
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 3.00 Ghz
8 GB RAM
1GB NVidia Geforce 9800 GT

I worked all night on a pretty simple model, with one single layer and with about 600.000 polys!
I saved different versions of this file with different names, to guarantee that if there is any problem with my file, I could use the previous version of that, but ALL of them are corrupted, and when I try to open any of the files Zbrush displays the following message:

File Error
Error has been encountered while trying to load a tool
load has been aborted!

I just lost A ENTIRE DAY OF WORK!! Please, some one has a solution for that??

I am really worried about that, because I think that there are no chances for me to recover this file.

What are your system specs?
Which version of ZBrush are you using?
What are your settings in Preferences>Mem?
What are the details concerning the model? (Number of polygons, number of layers, number of SubTools, etc.)

Yup im having same probs capmaya, un-installed and re-installed 6-7 times, deleted pixologic folder each time and ran regedit to delete any pixologic leftovers each time ive un-installed, but i still cant load or save tools, loosing my patience with it now. Mjayzero signing off from zbrush ( never thought i’d hear myself say that ):frowning:

Intel pentium dual-core 3.2ghz x2
Nvidia geforce 8600GT
4GB DDR2 corsair 800mhz RAM

Running zbrush 3.5 r3.

Ive ran zbrush memory on default, then gradually up2 3300 compacting…
internal error 250 as norm, errors only occur when saving tools and zapplinkin 2 maya or cs3 so far. Never had any probs b4 with zbrush 3.1.
I like the additions of zbrush 3.5 r3, but is really frustrating that i cant save any work…
