cracks on poser model when subdv

Hello!

i have imported poser model into zbrush. Imported were only parts of the body like arms ,legs ,head etc,…(for applying later on texture ). Cracks happen when i subdv each part,…what i must do that this wont happen?

I suppose those faces are disconected… I don’t know how to connect them in zbrush (cause im a new user and all) but you could also connect those faces in your other modeling program before importing to zbrush…

i pressed “crease” before subdv each part, and somehow cracks are gone.If i rotate my model they still can be seen, but not as much as before…

The only way to completely prevent edges from pulling apart is for the mesh to be welded. Subdivision smoothing always causes a contraction of the mesh, which will cause unwelded edges to pull apart.

Creasing helps prevent that by making the edges more resistant to the smoothing effect. But it won’t completely eliminate it.
