Count Dracula!

Great work, it’s simply wonderful. My only crit would be that I actually liked more your first eyebrows. I love the added eye lashes though but the new eyebrows just don’t look right to me. they are to bushy and the first one were more slim and fitting.

Other then that I really love it and it turned out great!

Mr. Baker,

Life long Fan. Question. Why do you find yourself working in Modo?

Uncanny to look at that, I can actually feel synapses forming while looking at it. Amazing how the gaze is captured so well like he is about to cover his face with his cape once more.

Awesome likeness! Well done! Cant wait to see what other nasties you create over Halloween!

Mr. Baker, I implore you to stop taking high resolution photos and representing them as your sculpts.

Seriously though, I don’t think sculpting gets any better than this. Seeing this reminds me of why Bella Lugosi is the one and only Dracula. Wonderful job!

“Goot eve-ning…”:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Hey Rick, I didnt realize till a few minutes ago that they remade It’s Alive and without you…grrrrrrrr but with researching I did see that you did The Wolfman so that sets my mind at ease. Saw the trailer at the movies a few days ago when we went to se the opening of Zombieland. Take care my friend.

Ron Harris

ps love the update of Bela. Been showing your work off to my friends here.:+1:

Sweet ain’t it :+1:

this is so soooo fulll of life … truely inspirational … all of your works are excellent, big BOW !!

Hey Rick, real great work as usual, man why do you need stars ,you 're up there with them, you are one of those artists that keeps us going, keep em coming…inspire us

Hey, Rick, maybe someday when, you know, you have Nothing to do and are really bored,…you could treat us to a tutorial. I’d pay! 50.

Great looking Bela! I love your ZBrush likenesses, they are so inspiring.

EDIT

A couple questions for you Rick if you don’t mind

Are you still using the alphas you posted years back in your old man head thread? The beautiful variety of pore shape and size and the crosshatching around the eyes is gorgeous. I’m curious if you have created new alphas from existing texture stamps or maybe from lifecasts? Or perhaps the skin detailing is all manually applied?

There is some really beautiful gravity in the lines around the eyes! Are you using the brush modifiers at all or is it just a matter of sculpting it directly? In any case its damn inspiring man.

Cheers!

Scott

I so wish you would post a video detailing your texturing techniques for skin. These kinds of results are not normal. They are uncanny and awe inspiring. You are an Amazing Artist Mr. Baker.

Love his expression. Looks alive!

Excellent work! Keep up the good work

Congrats on Top Row! Again, thanks for sharing your works with us :sunglasses: .

hey there i saw your gallery and its one of the best in here.

im new to zbrush but im lovin it , im tryin to creat celeb headshots
but im kinda stuck on skin texturing i cant find an alpha that would do the job

i can see that you do great with skins.
so can you help me out here?

can you tell me where to get some of those alpha’s?

thanks in advance

:+1: :+1: :+1:
awesome job

Lugosi is absolutely fabulous. Great work man.

Thanks guys,
Lots of questions about the alphas , i kind of answered them once but will again.
I used many of the alphas in the default group. alpha 23, alpha 58, and alpha 36.
I made a few new alphas just white dots or lines on a black background. Very simple and easy to make.
Some times especially for the pores I use the spray stroke to get a base of pores down with alpha 23.

It is really a matter of time and effort that you put into your piece . I textured this model throughout the course of modeling it. Many times almost wiping out the previous texture. I work on different layers so I can adjust the intensity but spend a really long time on it. A lot of the final work was done with alpha 36 and I just zoom in really close and laboriously draw the texture.

Scott didn’t use the old man alphas made a few new ones.
Say to my friends in NZ for me.

There are two videos of my doing zbrush sculpts that are textured in a similar way on Gnomonolgy. If you watch they you will see that I really don’t know what I am doing but try a lot of different things until I get the results that I am looking for.
I never expect the first thing that I put down to be what I end up with in the end.
Hope this answers a few of your questions
