Correct Path Installation for Downloaded MatCaps/Alphas etc.

Hi,

Could someone please show how to install downloaded files like Matcaps to the correct locations without interfering with the programme.I lose the Load function when installing Matcaps and have to keep them in a seperate folder and load that way.Its time consuming and I need to click each one to generate a preview.
I just watched the zphere II video and saw a matcap library with 100ish mats previewed on the artists interface.
Can someone clear up for me the material and alpha/texture display limits and correct paths.
Appreciate any help ,
thanks cal

ps
Ive searched 25 pages on this forum and the pixologic site still with no idea.

In Windows it’s

C:\Program Files\Pixologic\ZBrush3\ZStartup

There you have an Alphas and a Materials folder.

Don’t put more than 25 items in each startup folder. The startup folders are for things you use constantly, rather than for stuff you think you might use sometime.

dustinbrown Thanks .I was using the path you said but I was/am losing the load button on the material tab.I decided to load all my materials into the tab so I can see them all and dont need the load button!

Aurick :Thanks ,so the rule applies to all start up folders?.Can I get around it by doing as I have with the material folder. Will this cause any issues…Seems ok so far.
