Very nice work. :+1: :+1:

Thanks kaisasose!!

great work overall, however the hair, crown of thorns and beard detail blow me away

Amazing work…just one question. Wasn’t he nailed through the wrists as well? I have heard that it was the common practice of the Romans to nail through the palm and then to ensure that the victim was secured to the cross (i.e. in order that the crucified could hang their body weight on the nail) they also drove a nail into the space between the radius and ulna in the wrist. Not sure if you are going for historical accuracy or stylistic interpretation. Just thought I would throw that in for thought.

Great work! :+1:

it’s really great job, enjoyed from it. thanks…

Thanks for the comments people I really appreciate it.

Captain Cartesian: Hi man yeah that was a question that puzzled me so I watched a documentary on Roman punishments prior to modelling. Some historically believe he was nailed through the hands and secured with ropes round the elbow, and more interestingly some believe what the Romans did was pierce the palm then go in at an angle which when done properly would end up going through the back of the wrist which was intended for real bad pain because of the main nerves which were damaged, it left the victim also paralysed in said arm yet also feeling the pain at the same time, I think this one is probably most accurate as they didn’t have to mess with ropes then to secure the body, another version was to place a wood block at the feet which would take the weight but who knows for sure. But in the end on this model I decided I liked the pierced hand because its so much more symbolic through the centuries so you are right it was purely artistic decision. Thanks for looking.

Great sculpt, presentation and render. Top notch!
