Cop_wip

Finally got my laptop fixed so I can Zbrush again without getting BSOD or exploding sub tools when moving between divisions YAY! the simple pleasures.
Anyway here is something I have been working on with any spare time I found over the last couple of weekends. this is for a personal project. It is still very much a WIP and I keep finding myself changing bits and pieces all the time and it is getting a bit subtool-tastic at the moment.
The end result will be a game spec character as well as a model I can get printed that is if I am happy with the end result.
ahhh Its nice to get away from iphone art.

comments and crits welcome

I have not had much time to work on this over the last couple of weeks but tonight I finished roughing out what I want. The knee and elbow pads are going to change I am not sure to what just yet I will have to sketch out some ideas. Overall though I am quite happy with the direction it is going.

For now I am, going to go through my tools and retopologise them so I can clean up the sculpts for adding some details later and make my scene a little lighter. I have started off with the head I used Domonic Purcell for reference but I am not going to go for an exact likeness and will go back to this as I get more of the other elements resculpted and make some tweaks.

I really love that cop, and the weapons too! I can’t wait to see some more of this :sunglasses:small_orange_diamond:+1:

thanks P4TRICK

I have done a quick retopology and sculpting pass over the jacket and helmet. I still have a little more refining and cleaning up to do on these then I will add some smaller surface details.

look very nice, i like that suit a lot good job:cool:

looks great, although he may have trouble firing his gun (look at the barrel again).

lol. damnit I don’t know what I was thinking with that barrel the gun will just explode in his hand. I will get that fixed thanks for pointing it out.

thanks for the comments

just a very tiny update where I have started working in a couple of straps on the torso nothing major at all.

COP_WIP04.jpg

the new straps look nice, and you’re quite welcome for the barrel comment. also, if the bullet is designed to come out from the bottom you may want to look at the hammer position too. if re-engineering was easy everyone would do it, keep that in mind when you have to make changes.

Thats just awesome! :+1:

Are you looking for a “job” on a free mod for the source engine : )?

No I am not currently looking for work I have just started my own project and if I am not sleeping or at my job I am working on that.

I did a quick pass over the arms tonight and had a quick look at hypershot as I have seen some great renders on here coming from that software. It seems like a really nice solution for doing quick renders I reduced a few of these tools down a level or two and still brought across a 10mil tri model no problems and the renders are pretty quick. Probably a bit expensive just for knocking out quick renders though.

Terrific work, especially the clothing, belt, the belt buckle. Great talent.

I have not had any time to work on this over the last few weeks because I have been busy with the job but I found some tonight. I have reworked the head (again) I have still kept this at div 2 I didn’t want to go any higher just get as much out of it in a quick time. I want to do a few more test heads before I try working this up. I have fixed the issues with the gun the barrel, chamber and firing pin are aligned now. I have redesigned the holster a little and added a new pouch and elbow pads. I am still not quite happy with the elbow pads I may wrap it around the arm a little more and need to clean up the straps on them.

I got a little more done on this tonight. I still need to rework the trousers and I want to add some more details across the character. There is also some fixing in various area I will need to address

COP_WIP05.jpg

You fixed the face - looks much better and believeable now

I’d focus attention on the proportion of the legs as the kneepads seems to be squeezing them into a funny shape.

Very nice sculpting! Keep us updated :+1:

Thanks for the comments they are appreciated

Just a small update tonight various little tweaks.
