Converting vertex color from poly paint to texture??

Hi, I was following the tutorial for ZProject and Adjusting Photo Reference in the ZB help file (\ZHelp\Tutorial_ZProject_and_Adjusting_Photo_Reference.htm) and everything was going fine…projected the image just fine, but now i want to use ZApplink for some touch ups and other stuff. I figure I have to turn the vertx colors to a texture so i can use ZApplink and Photoshop.

So I try turning the UVs back on and then hit the Clr->Txr button but it just makes the mesh disappear and no texture seems to be written to the Texture palette.

i’ve tried making a new texture before hitting the Clr->Txr button as well as just hitting the button so it gets written to the current texture. I’ve taken a movie showing what my steps are:

if anyone can see what i’m doing wrong i’d really appreciate it!

in case it matters my system is:
windows vista 64
12 GB of RAM
dual quad core intel xenon procs @ 2.66 Ghz

ZAppLink works just fine with polypaint. You don’t need a texture. (Don’t use Projection Master and ZAppLink together – all you need is ZAppLink.)

As for the problem you’re encountering with Col>Txr, are the UV’s disabled? If so, you’ll need to enable them again and then assign UV mapping to the model before you can use Col>Txr. If your model previously had mapping, disabling the UV’s actually deletes them. So you’ll still need to reapply your mapping after enabling the UV’s.

ahhhh! that’s the problem. when i was going through the tutorial i read “disable uvs” as they get muted, not deleted. ok, i’ll just reimport the old base mesh with the uvs and then try the button. thanks!!
