Converting Material to Texture Map

I know how I can paint material qualities onto a model- but I’m looking now to bake out a material into a texture map. Is this possible? Basically I want to get a snap shot of chrome material and place it into a static texture.

Zapplink will let you bake material lighting into a texture. Cannedmushrooms has a tutioral on his thread for doing it.
