Is it possible to setup my Korg nanoKontrol to work with zBrush?
I think it would be really cool and efficient if I could control all of the buttons and sliders externally…

Neat idea. What OS are you using? Does the Korg control panel support mapping sliders to keyboard versus Midi messages? (I don’t have one of the Korg Nanos . . .)

Nope, it only supports notes and CCs and even if one could map ascii characters to it, it wouldn’t really work the way you’d want it to.
Damn, I think I just need to bite the bullet and finally learn how to code because it’s the only thing that’s holding me back at this point. =p
I think you’re going to need to hack something together that can convert Midi into mouse movements and keystrokes (which ZB can understand.) Something like Max/MSP can probably make it relatively easy to capture a pipe of midi changes and turn them into specific mouse & keyboard actions. Alternately, PureData might be able to do it, but I don’t have enough experience with PD as I mostly use Max.

woh!
That’s a bit over my head as far as having the actual knowledge to pull something like that off, but I get the gists of what you’re saying and that’s probably my best bet if I ever get to that point.
I grew up making simple little songs and sound effects in FL Studio (i only recently purchased the nano series to take things a step further without spending too much), so I haven’t really dived in to Max/MSP or any of the other industry recognized DAWs. Although I do have a few friends from Harmonix that are into doing stuff like this in their freetime…
Maybe I’ll give my buddy a ring and see what he thinks about it before dragging him over here to perhaps take things a step further?

Yes, he turned a super nes controller into a midi controller!
