CONSTRAIN PROPORTIONS ?!

Hi all,

I want to import a BMP picture to ZBrush.
When I just say import it resizes my picture
to the size of the current layer. (Obviously ugly)
So I tried to first resize the empty layer
to height 240, width 230 (the actual size of the picture) But I guess because of constrain
proportions ? it doesN’t allow me to do so.
It changes automatically to width=320
height=240. Any idea how I get my picture
into ZBrush with the original size?
Please don’t say read the tutorials. I did.

Perhaps my question is clearer when I ask:

How do I toggle the proportional button off?
Ciao JOLA

'Morning Jola…To turn off “Proportions”, all you should have to do is click on the “PRO” button, next to the “Width” & “Height” buttons. When it’s green - Proportions is on / when it’s black - Proportions is off. Then all you have to do is to enter your height & width sizes, & click “Resize”. You might want to enter sizes about two or three times larger than your image, in ZBrush, or resize the image in PhotoShop or whatever image program you use, before you import it into ZBrush. Example: If your image is 240 by 230, then you’d want to enlarge it to either 480 by 460 / or even 720 by 690. I hope this helps some??? Have a good one… Mark.

Hi kruzr,

thanks a lot. Everything works fine now!
I just did not know this simple usage…

Hi Jola,

Here’s something fun I like to do for importing an image into Zbrush. Select the “Plane 3D” tool in the tool panel. Then in the texture window import your .bmp or .psd image as a texture. and finally, choose Glow for a material. When you click and drag on the screen you should see your image on the surface of a square. If it is crooked or out of proportion you can scale and rotate it in the edit mode. The image may seem dark and dull, but when you hit the “best render” button your image will get this amazing glow. You can adjust the amount of glow by going to Materials>Modifiers>S1>Glow amount. I think that this would be a fun thing for you to try with your bright cheerful images.
