conform

If I had several faces that I wanted to apply interchangable face parts to, how would I get the parts to conform to the different contours of the differently shaped faces? For example, would I use a bend feature on lips to conform to differently shaped faces? I want to create caricatures using interchangable face parts and lots of different head “blanks”.

I have already been told about smoothing the intersection of the part and face, but I need a way to have the parts conform roughly with the face surface.

It’s really hard to give good advice without knowing more. But I personally would use the Move brush.

Think of political cartoon caricatures that I can build with pre-made head “blanks” and a catalogue of exaggerated face parts. Can I easily apply a wide set of lips to a narrow chin so that it adapts/bends around to fit?

From your description it sounds as though you have a collection of unrelated pre-made parts. It would take dedicated and sophisticated software to be able to do what you describe - there can’t be a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. For example, some sort of fall-off would need to be defined on a per-piece basis, so that the fitting was realistic.

As aurick has already said in this and another of your threads, it is fairly straightforward to do this by hand in ZBrush using either the Move brush or the Transpose action line. But there’s no magic button that will take one mesh and make it conform to another.

If I made an alpha of, for exaple, a mouth and teeth that I made, can I use mesh insert to apply it to a face and have it follow the curvature of the face?
