complex tubing

I have posted a similar post before with no luck of finding a solution.

I want to create tubing on my character with detailed indents without leaving Z-Brush.

The problem is that the tubing are bent in several places. The only solution thus far is doing

it in XSI by extruding my tube along a curve and only after scailing selected polys to create the indents.

I have seen very complexed tubing in posts on here before but cant seem to find a way to create them.

By drawing Z-spheres it has grooves but its not complex enough fir my liking.

Any help would be appreciated or a link to a tutorial, etc.
