Complete Newbie Can't Get A Sphere Into ZBrush To Work With. Doh!

Hi All,

Like the title says, complete newbie here. Many of the links to tutorial videos on the Getting Started PDF no longer work so I’m missing that vital bit of very simple info: how do I get that basic sphere into ZBrush to work on? What’s it called, and where can I find it?

All help much appreciated!

LOL…That thread is over 10 years old.

Yes sir, it is, however he stated he was a newbie.

Cheers gents, that was the bit I needed. Once I knew the process for getting the spheres in was correct, it turns out I could load them but I couldn’t see them! Clicking “frame” sorted it.

Thanks again for setting me on the right path!

Sorry, but I just don’t get it. 10 yeras ago, it was ZBrush 1 or 1.5. The images in that thread are no longer available and the links in that thread are no longer available. Could you please explain to me how that could possibly help a newbie that is using ZBrush 4. All I can see it doing is confusing him even more.

Once again, apologies for another dumb question. I’m now looking into Draw Mode and Zspheres but I can’t find in them my tool palette. A dozen different tutorial vids tell me what they look like and where they should be, but they’re not. Those little two-tone sods are eluding me. Surely, as a main feature of Zbrush, they’d come pre-loaded, wouldn’t they?Just in case, I tried searching the program directory for a Zsphere tool file I could load up, but no joy. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Crisis over. Just found them. For any other noobs like me, they’re hidden under the polysphere icon.
