ComicCon 2015 - Galactus/Mogo Fusion

Hello everyone,

Been a bit of a lurker on these forums for a while and thought I would finally post something. This is my finished version of Galactus/Mogo I worked on for ComicCon 2015. Regrettably, life got in the way and I wasn’t able to make the deadline but I was really happy with the progress and wanted to go ahead and wrap up work on it. Normally, I render in LightWave but since I wasn’t in any rush having missed the window, I thought I would take a shot at a render in ZBrush. I finally sat down with some YouTube videos to get the basic process down and I am pretty happy with the results. I might have to give it a few more tries before I am really comfortable with the process but overall it was pretty straightforward (a lot easier than I thought it would be at least).

I created him using ZModeler for the armor and Dynamesh for the body and base. The render was all BPR render passes and then comp together in Photoshop. The background is just a Hubble image I found that I liked.

I will get a few WIP images up as well but here is the final result:

  2. Which I didn’t like once I got the base mesh down so I went to version 2 (there are some Dynamic SubDivs of other armor parts as well):
