Comic Book Females! (nudity)

First time posting and I would like to say the work I see in here is AWSOME and Inspirational!!! I hope to achieve the same quality of work someday.

Now to my post, like the title say’s I’m not trying to achieve realism, my objective is to capture the beauty and cutness in a comic book style.

Right now I’m just working on the heads, I will be putting bodies on the females when get there. Also the hair is temporary I’ll finalize that when I’m satisfied with the faces. I will be doing a few more heads.

I used ZSpheres on all of them and created each one separately.

The one on the right has the most appeal. I like it’s style and while not realistic in proportion, all the parts of the face are there pleasingly treated and in relation to each other. The left the eyes are bit large and that sets off my anti-anime bias. The center, something odd’s happening with the nose. The first has the same problem, actually. I think it’s the missing curve of the shadow of the nostrils. It’s a subtle detail, but the third has it and that one doesn’t set of my “wrong” sensor in the same way. Nice work though on that third. It really has appeal. Keep it up!

Looks pretty good to me
The hair should have alot more sharper lines in it, and the faces could be a bit more refined.

Thanks For your input  I agree on the nose and the third one is the most appealing. I’ll work on the others when I create their bodies.

Cool Thanks man!
The hair is temporary I assure you IT will have sharper lines. (I’m just practicing on the faces for right now)
On the faces since this is a comic book style I’m trying to find a medium on refining the faces. IT’s really easy for it to look like a man in a WIP.

Thanks again guys!

[font=Verdana’, 'sans-serif]Alright I created another head but this time I put a body bust on her.

Also decided this will be Super Girl My version of course.

Still needs work but happy so far with it. The back I know needs the most attention. I’ll work on Hair and a little bit of clothing. This is just a quick study but will see it to the end.

Keep in mind It’s in a comic book style not realistic.

Thanks For Looking

They look nice. The hair is the weakest point. Recently I also got the same problem in a character I’m sculpting. I first tried to get the geometry for the hair with the new Zspheres sketching but I got the same lumps you have along the geometry, which makes it very difficult to get the fluid sharp lines you need.

I think something like the snake hook might work better. In my case the air was optional so I decided not to put any. I’ll soon be posting that work.

Anyway my next work goes more towards the comics look you have here. Cool!!

Watch the profile in these new shots. Looks like your nose/bridge of the nose is squashed back a bit much giving it a dented in look.

The hair on those ladies are just temporary I’ll finalize that when I do their bodies.

Also about the hair, you have to find the direction of the hair that you want and use the ZSperes and just go in that direction (Less bumpy but it’s quite annoying doing long hair). I use the snake brush for making single strands longer and make it pointy.

My recommendation is just retopo after you get the body of the hair. (I know another annoying chore)

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks again with the critique. I’ll work on

So here’s an update on SUPER GIRL.

Worked on body and started the hair (Needs a lot more work)

METHOD: HAIR

ZSperes and Lazy Mouse

Thanks for looking

I really like where you’re going. The body is looking very good and the hair really has some nice lines. The threads are harder to refine, right? I was doubting about the use of Zspheres to get the base mesh for the hair because of the wierd topology you get.

Are you working your hair with a Zsphere Basemesh retopologized?

That really seems the way to go.

Thanks for the reply, it’s really helpfull. I’m just starting on Zbrush and I’m hoping to post my first work today. I ended up keeping the hair on my character.

IT’s not retopo yet I’m seeing if its ok as is when I finish it. If it’s not then I’ll retopo it.

Single strands are a bit more annoying because of the denting when you sculpt one side. (You have to divide it a couple times for it to be managable)

This is what I’ve done first. I used ZSpheres for the eye lashes too.
The less resolution you give it the easier for it to smooth but the singles strands will be lost. I put 200 in the Unified Skin tab Resolution. Then after I made it a Polymesh3D I smooth it as much as I can then sub divide it.

Hope this helps

Thanks for sharing the tecnique. Its seems very eficient. I’ll probably give it a try next time.

Super Girl (My Version)! Comic Style not Realistic.

worked on the hair (still not finish yet) and I put the basic accessories and clothes (Still need to add more) So far I’m liking where this is going.

thanks for looking!

I really like where you’re going. The hair looks great even if not finished.

The body looks amazing but I feel that her face is a bit more stylized than the body and the combination is not as coherent as I would expect. But maybe with the rest of the body and accessories things will get more connected.

Yeah I agree, I tweak it a bit and about the rest of the body it’s going to stay like this. In the begining this was just meant to be a bust and just a study.
The next one will be a full body and textures, etc…

NOTE!: Note Realistic, Meant to be be in a Comic Book Style!

Well this is how far I wil go with this one, I could of got this done a few days ago but I got caught up with playing the Metal Gear Solid Series (Such a FUN game  )

I know I could do so much more with this one but this was just meant to be a study. (A fun one to Note)

The Next one I will be doing will be a Full Body Female, textured and everything.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!
