Comic Book Character Sculpts

Gio-thanks, brother…I appreciate it!!!

You have to see the Lyendecker inspired DC Dynamics pieces by Tim Bruckner…

http://comics.ign.com/dor/objects/14349739/dc-dynamics-statues/images/dc-dynamics-statues-20090514003059172.html

He posted close-ups of the Aquaman on the Shiflett Brother’s forum a while back , don’t know if you saw them. Tim is the man.

RAMWolff-thanks! We just moved into a new house and I have a big enough studio to have all of my comics around me…have a Legion from the 70’s out in front of my right now by coincidence (not sculpting them…just hit the dollar bins at flea markets and they start to stack up!)with Wildfire doing his thing on the cover. Dave C was fantastic. I have his tribute book which is a must for anyone who digs his art and legacy.

Amazing how many folks here are comics fans, too. I know I am far from the only artist here who was probably first inspired to pic up a pencil because of comics but it is still cool to see…

Totally cool. I have Dave’s Tribute book as well. Sad day when he passed. I thought I was going to be upset when Katherine Hepburn passed on but she had a very long life, mid 90’s she lived to. Dave… got cheated as so many of us do!!

Don’t mean to hijack a thread I started but here is a great organization supporting ailing comic book vets and professionals…don’t know if they helped Dave but I do know they helped Gene Colon…

I love the DC Dynamics…Tim Bruckner mentioned on the Shiflett Brothers’ forum that he deliberately designed them in the style of J.C. Leyendecker…it totally shows especially in Aquaman’s face…very, very cool.

Comiccon Pics include Joseph artwork !

thanks, m0delista! the pics are great!

How about that Batman vs. Killer Croc statue by Ray Villafane? That ROCKS!!!..think it was designed by Walter O’Neil, too…both are incredible artists.

Love the work you do, Batman is my Fav,keep up the good work,Tom

Amazin work man…fantastic

Classic War Machine in progress for Bowen Designs…lower pic has corrections by Randy Bowen.

Great work! But his crotch looks a bit flat… more like a female one…

That’s why he’s kinda ticked off…his iron skivvies are too tight

your work instantly took me out of my lurking lol. As a comic book fan myself. your work is truly inspiring. I will be watching this thread. Keep it up.

Thanks, very kind of you!

I am currently working on a bunch of stuff for DC and will post it as soon as I am allowed.
