I seem to remember seeing someone combining two objects in a way where they became one low res mesh in ZBrush. Is there a way to do this or were they probably just using Zspheres and i’m getting it mixed up?
I am by no means an expert as to the "how"on this but I know it can be done. I know you can use the Subtool pallet to combine multiple pieces together and then the subtool Master to export them all back out together (atleast I believe so although havent gotten to export it out with subtool master yet) or you can use insertMesh as well I believe. You could try doing a search for both here to get more information to see which way better suit your needs…sadly Im not too much help, I only started learning how to model in Z a few days ago LOL HUGS!
One way to do this (there are several) is that you can start with your first imported .obj, then go to the subtool palette and click the append button. This will allow you to append the “Polymesh 3d” tool your .obj. Once you have that tool appended, and then selected and made active, you can click on the import palette and press import to browse for your next obj file.
Once you select the second obj you’re trying to combine with your first obj, it will be added to the subtool palette in place of the polymesh 3d tool.
From there you can combine them together using one of several approaches, the easiest probably being the Merge option in the subtool palette. This merges all visible subtools into one model. Pressing Merge will add the new merged mesh to your tool palette with a name starting with “Merged”.
If you then select that new merged mesh you can export it out as an .obj if you wish by simply having it active and visible (eye icon in the subtool palette) then hitting the export button in the export palette.
Again, one of several methods you could use. You could also remesh all meshes in a subtool using the remesh all function, then project the detail from your meshes onto the newly created mesh. Or you could use subtool master to combine all your subtools into one mesh but that simply just merges them for you, but now you can access the merge button directly from the subtool palette in this version if you wish.
