Colors to texture size issue

Hi, I get a problem when I am painting my texture. I import my texture, use the button Colors from texture to be able to paint. Paint. And then use the button Colors to texture to generate the new map.

The problem is that my original texture is a 4k map but I end up with a 1k map.

My model is at the highest resolution ( about 6 millions poly).
I try to set up the texture res to 4 k before creating my map…still the same prob.

any guess someone?
Thanks

Charles, you need to create a new texture with at least 2048x2048 first, did you?

Cool its working. Thanks. I created a 4k map before using the Colors to texture button and its working.
I tried that before actually…but I was ending with a very light color map. I must have done something wrong I guess…

Thanks again

great!:+1:

Just found out something interesting about this white map issue I was talking about. When you create your new texture to generate the new map, the background color must be the same as your original texture otherwise it will change the lightness of the new texture. That was the reason why I end up with a very bright map.

The background-(everything outside the UV of the character/object) of my photoshop texture was quite dark, but I was creating a white map. So I end up with a very bright map.

interesting tip!

who knows from wich corner comes the rabbit:D
