Color to Texture UVW ?

  • I unwrapped my polymesh in max
  • I load into zbrush
  • I start poly painintg on it
  • I create a Texture map --> Col to Texture

now, when the texture map shows up in zbrush, I can clearly see that it doesn’t fit on my mesh.

i fI go to the lowest subdiv level, and generate a new GUV inside Zbrush, and again I hit Col to Tex… this texture map fits perfect.

But I would like to keep the unwrapped UVW map I’ve created before inside max.

So what’s the problem here ?

as you can see, when I use just the imported mesh with the UVW form 3dsmax, and I create a texture map with Col to Text I get the distortion or wrong texture map.

so what do I need to change now so that I don’t loose the unwrapped UVW’s from 3dsmax and the texture map looks as good as with the AUV Tiles ?

it looks like your UV’s are broken. Do a quick test. tool>texture>UVcheck.

see if that texture has breaks in the mesh.
also check to make sure nothing is red.
