Color to texture problem NEED HEEELP!!!

I don’t understand this and I can’t find any tutorials on the internet which solve this problem. What is going on? I used max to uv map this and export it to obj. I’ve imported the model and painted directly onto it with no problem but when I hit color to texture I get the texture placed on parts of the uv map where it shouldn’t be. Why is this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi! There’s a place in Pixolator for these kind of questions (“Questions and Troubleshooting Forum”). It might be better to refer your problems there.

At first glance, I’m thinking about UV’s overlapping in max.

And now, a big “IF”:

-If you have one half of the plane unwrapped to save UV’s space (or mirroring textures), you will get into problems in Zbrush while going from polypaint to the option “color to texture”.

A solution. Zbrush: hide one half of the plane, go to “color to texture” save your texture. Apply this texture in Max to each part. Done!

Luck.

Thank you!

The problem was I had to invert some of the mapping in max and export the obj as triangles, rather than quads. I also had some overlapping which needed to be fixed. Glad to have that sorted out now, its amazing how much a clear head helps to solve problems.
