color picker hotkey sticking issue

i saw that someone else posted a question about the color picker hotkey but for some reason whenever i try to change or delete the hotkey for the color picker (‘C’ by default) zbrush 4.4 just plain refuses to do it , whenever i try to change the hotkey, ctrl+Alt clicking the Color Selector it’ll tell me that the hotkey has been reassigned successfully, which partially happens but the C hotkey sticks and doesn’t go away

this is a pain since i’m trying to assign the c to the transpose scale tool, and i don’t want to be selecting colors with that hotkey

zbrush 4.4, mac 10.6

Try this:

  1. Assign the new hotkey to the Color selector.
  2. Assign the C hotkey to the Transform>Scale button.

Store the hotkeys and close ZBrush. Now open the StartupHotkeys.txt file which you’ll find in the Users/Shared/ZBrushData/ZStartup/Hotkeys folder. Make sure it has someting like at the end of the file (though the entry for the color selector will be a different hotkey unless you also chose K):

[TRANSFORM:SCALE,99] // C
[COLOR:MODIFIERS:MINI HSV COLOR SELECTOR,107] // K

If the lines aren’t there then you can add them. Save and close the file.

Restart ZBrush and see if the hotkeys work OK.
