Clothing !!Updated!!

Previously posted:

-While trying to make clothing for a witch that I'm working on, I came across a problem: my clothes looked like crap. I was using a texture that I made that looked like cloth on a cylinder. I then edited the cylinder to make it look like it was a sleeve for a shirt. For some reason, it didn't work, It didn't look like it was hanging from the arm. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to do this :qu:

Thanks to Slosh, and Hanuman, I now can make decent looking clothes for my witch. I’m still having trouble putting the body into the clothes though. The thing is, In my final image I plan to have the witch’s hand sticking out of her sleeve rubbing a crystal ball, whenever I try to put a 3d cylinder into the sleve I’ve created however, it always colides with the sleeve. The only way I have to avoid this problem is not to put the arm at an angle which looks really dumb. I’m wondering if there is any way to do some sort of boolean combination of the two 3d shapes and to rotate them both around the same axis. Does that make sense???

Hi zerobugetgamemaker!! Go to Southern site!! We have a tutorial for cloting!! Enjoy!!

Try using the sweep profile tool. In the Initialize subpalette, you can adjust the basic shape to almost anything, and it’s hollow. I find that you get much more control this way, than with a cylinder. Once you have the basic shape, you can model it just like any other primitive.

Thanks guys, but I have a couple of ?s. Mr. Braun, what is the SOUTHERN sites URL? Slosh, How do I get to the initialize sub-pallete ?

David

When you choose the sweep profile tool, underneath it is “Modifiers”. Click on that and you will see deformations, symmetry, texture, etc. The last item is Initialize. Click initialize, then you will see a graph. You can create the basic half shape in the graph. See my picture below: The graph in the tool pallette produces the bottle as shown.

try this script mr zerobugetgamemaker

sweep profile.txt

Ok,I get it. thanks Slosh. And thatnks Hanuman, Im right about to try the ZScript.
