Closing an open mouth?

I’m fiddling with a model of the Great Goblin from “The Hobbit” movie. Now, I’m not sure I want the mouth open as I go along, but I can’t really figure out the best way to close it this late in the creation process without truncating polys into a complete mess. There doesn’t seem to be an easy way to delete mesh details, like teeth once you made the misstake of merging them into the head mesh…

If I should be able to move/push the mouth together, what is the best way to get rid of all the polys (teeth etc) that would end up behind the lips?

Any ideas?

Group split? Polygroup from polypaint then group split. Select and hide, then delete hidden. How did you model/merge?
In the brush modifiers there is mask by polygroup, set to highest value and you can tweak the lips. HTH

Thank you. Sounds like a plan! :+1: I will try that…

I made the model by resculpting one of the male models that came with Zb. The teeth was made separately, but during the process I merged them with the head mesh via DynaMesh. That was a bad call…
