Cloning? Please help (solved!)

I was modelling the right ear on my model head in Zbrush 3.5 and then I saw that the left side was completely different.
Is there a way to delete precisely the left half of my model head and copy the right part of the head to the left so everything look similar.
Or is there a clone brush just like in photoshop?
Excuse my English for it is not that good lol

Am not great with Zbrush I only know the basics - This is my first model and its looking good at the moment.
the only problem is the other side of the head is crap :frowning:
Please help me guys I would like to continue further am addicted to this lol

Thanks in advance

A couple of solutions come to mind.

  1. Remesh all technique. On your lowest level (fewest points), hide the half you don’t like and use Tools->Geometry -> Delete Hidden to delete it from the object. Then use Subtool Master (it will be in your Zplugin menu if you don’t have it in your interface) to Mirror and merge into one subtool. If the centerline points were perfectly symmetrical, then you may find they all welded together perfectly and you are both lucky and done. If there is a seam in the middle, go to your highest level and use Remesh All. This will create a new unified skin over the two pieces.

  2. Retopo Technique. As above, but instead of Remesh All, you use topo tools to draw a new level one for your head. Time consuming, but will give you great control of your topology.

  3. Project All technique. This is generally done if you want to resymetricize your base mesh in another program like Maya, Modo, Silo or Topogun. Export your base mesh to a .obj. Fix symmetry to your liking in another program and save as a .obj. With your object to be fixed as your currently selected tool on level 1, import your fixed .obj. Zbrush should ask you if you want to project the details onto the new .obj. Say “yes” and it should work auto-magically.

If this doesn’t work, import your fixed .obj and divide to the same level as your original sculpture. Attach your original sculpture as subtool. Use the “project all” button on the subtool pallet to copy the details to your fixed .obj.

Thank you Kerwin!
It worked

I also found another way: Mask the half I want to keep and then Tools>Deformation>Smart Resym.

Cheers:D

Yes, Smart Resym will do the trick! (I mixed up you post with another–the information above will work when Smart Resym doesn’t. )
