Clockie Sketchbook

Hi!
ive already posted some models here that i made in the process of learning zbrush, but since im so busy with the 2D work that i get paid for i have almost no time for playing in zbrush now, so most of the stuff i do now are little doodles, so i decided it would be best to make a sketchbook for them and not spam this forum with my ****ty creations  anyways, thanks to all the wonderful people here, this is the best place for inspiration and advice ever!
so, starting with a quickie owl-alien in a jar, not the most original design ever, but i had a funny 2 hours playing with it. Rendered in Cinema 4D.

Just having some fun bored at work, a new scene for the ā€œanimatedā€ spawn model, and the model alone. I wanted to achieve the painted texture look like in the new Clone Wars series…

He! I like your works!

On the eyes of the chick, you should use spheres as eyes, and model the eyes you have now into eyelids so you can push your sphere in place, always looks better and cleaner.

About the spawn model, I like the setting man. but you can enhance the quality by using better lighting, you should for instance use some backlight in an other colour ( white would do, you would want this colour to be fresh) too make it look more interesting.

Hope it helps!

Keep up the good work.

Another quickie, my entry for a czech star wars fan-art competition about
a star wars games character Kyle Katarn. Here we can see him dealing
with a rather dangerous situation, where he and his favourite pet Ewok Wicket had to defend themselves against an attack from a pack of vicious Massifs during their holiday stay on Tatooine
now i need to save some money and buy a machine that can run ZB 3

So when doing research for me previous pic, i found this awesome video http://www.starwars.com/video/view/000235.html about star wars creatures, and thought i might make some. So heres a quick practice, alien from Jabbas sail barge, Ree-Yees  i felt so sorry for this guy, hes so ugly i just had to make him in 3D  im thinking about practicing on some other SW creature, any suggestions?

A rough sketch of a head im working on now… i was going for a stylized look, but as it progresses, i think i will take it in a more realistic direction xicht.jpg

Finished the head… Its a cover illustration for a sci-fi book about a dying computer programer who transfers his mind into a virtual WW2 game character. Had a lot of fun working on this one  Thank you for any C&C

This one is inspired by the awesome movie by Hayao Miyazaki, Grave of the Fireflies. If you havent seen it, watch it, and prepare some handkerchiefs
… and now i really need to buy a new mac so i can move from Zbrush 2… am i the only one still using it here?
C&C very much appreciated, thank you
