Claymation in ZBrush

Hi all, here are some claymations I’ve been doing with ZBrush.

I sculpt the characters and environments in ZBrush, send to Maya for rough animation, and then back to ZBrush to sculpt on every frame. I’ve found it allows me to get a lot more expressive motion, with smears, jiggle/overlap, arcs, etc.

I’m clueless atm on how you play that animation in the ZBrush viewport… magic? … .

Thank you for sharing!!

Most intriguing and wonderfully atmospheric :+1:

There’s an addon for Blender called ‘Keymesh’ that I think you might like - it allows you to sculpt forward with changing geometry/poly count .

Thanks all!

@Geert_Etcher_Melis Thanks I appreciate it!! I step through the animation in Zbrush by switching subtools

@boozy_floozie Thank you! Yes Keymesh looks like a great tool - they first developed it after I posted my Zbrush claymation work in early 2019, and they told me they’d seen my work previously. I haven’t tried it out yet but I’d like to

So cool to see these type of exploration  Thanks for sharing @alexanderlee.art
