Cintiq

Hi All,

I’ve recently been drooling and toying over the idea of purchasing a Wacom Cintiq graphics tablet monitor. Does anyone out there currently use one? I’d like to know what they’re like and what the precision and speed is like before I fork out £1500 - £3500 for one.

Cheers,

Laz

He he You have 10 years of advance

This is what I’ve been searching for my entire life (outside of software/zbrush)

Of course I see it in real exposition !
And play with it

With it forgive the mouse !
Problem is where put this true gem, on your knees, on your table, on your left hand, on your bed…
The Rolls Royce of the tablett!
I know that is also the dream of marcel
It’s like both a painter palett and the canvas

Well, I’ve recently become single, so have decided to save for the 18 inch baby  Should have it in a few months, so will write a review for everyone once I’ve given it the going over.

i use a cintiq, it’s a marvellous tool… (very VERY expansive)… with the sculpting tools of zbrush, it’s perfect… just think about one thing: if you begin with cintiq, the use of another tablet will become more and more difficult… , wich is, maybe, a problem; i have often, on professional situations, to modify something on the wacom of an advertising agencie, and it is like draw with the left hant (I’lm right handed)… in my opinion, the 18 don’t add anything… but it’s a matter of money…

So Marcel has craked

Which version do you have, Marcel, and when did you get it?

Laz

it’s the 15; and I have “cracked” since the beginning… never had another tablet; you can paint directly… but it’s not very “comfortable” to tell good things about a so expansive product…i join a picture, from my “comics” work… it’s directly drawed at the cintiq, absolutely like on paper…

Marcel the re incarnation of Benjamin Rabier

Ps In Zbrush ?

That’s what I was hoping… To be honest, the only real drawback I am expecting is having your hand get in the way of everything… I’m sortof used to the hand to eye co-ordination that you get with the usual tablet, but want that little bit extra that you get with the Cintiq… Kinda like dating a model when you’re so used to being with one who once ‘looked’ like one

Using a cintiq i have to say they are the best drawing utensils available IMHO.

But not to strain your budget too much wacom offers LCDs like the cintiq with ‘only’ 256 pressure incrementals. cost is around $600 i believe and besides that their technical data seems like the cintiq.

Also other companies have picked up this design and are producing low cost LCDs with pen support (now dont ask me wich companies please  - nor have i tried out these yet).

I will most definitely be on the lookout for those then, though will probably still get a Cintiq as I don’t like to skimp on the quality.

Besides, I still live with my parents, so have lots of free cash  Should be able to raise the funds for a 15" by March

I stumled over this, don’t know if it can be of any help. Luck!
