I’ve been using Zbrush for years and love it. It’s just a hobby for me, for now at least. I love drawing as well (more than 3D art). So, I’ve been debating for a while if I should get a Cintiq. It’s clear by now I won’t lose interest on Zbrush (one of my reasons for not buying it earlier). How big of a difference was it for you? I use a bamboo tablet and it’s pretty good, I feel good using it. But I’ve never tried a Cintiq and the reviews I’ve read say it’s a game changer. I’m thinking of getting either a 22hd or a 24hd, non-touch. Was it worth it for you guys? Also, how big of a difference is there between the 22 and 24 when are actually working on them.
The cintiq or any tablet are basically the same thing. If you have decent hand eye coordination you won’t really notice a difference from the two. When I started using my cintiq I actually didn’t like it. After a decade of using tablets I was used to my hand not being in the way while I work. Having to work over my stuff was intrusive to me and I had to change my workflow to support it.
There isn’t a difference between the two really. The heavy ass base of the 24 was a problem for me, it also doesn’t rotate, I believe the 22 and 23 do rotate, so I would recommend those over it.
