Cintiq Bamboo One?

Hi there,

I’ve recently started using zbrush, and my shoulder already hurts like hell using a mouse. Also I have a very limited budget, and was thinking about buying this cheapest of the cintiqs. Can somebody please give me more pros and cons and some more info? Thanks

I personally don’t like the cintique series.

I’ve had to draw on a tablet for so long that I am good with it. And when you’re drawing on a tablet you get the benefit of your hand not getting in the way.

I have used both the 21" and 12" and while I like the 21 more than the 12, I still only use it at work for concept stuff, nothing that is going to take me any real time. And it would probably have been faster for me to just get a pencil, some paper, and start the scanner.

As to the 12" I hate that little thing. There is no screen real estate to it. It feels clumsy and in the way…kind of like drawing on a napkin on your leg.

Some people love their cintiques though…so eh, take it for what it is worth.

Thanks for your comprehensive reply!

One more question - What you make of Wide Screen Design Tablet TB-7300 ?

cr

it sounds good to me, but I’d try it before I buy it.

Ok, thank you!

A couple more questions  What is the main difference between a tablet and a cintiq? - Does a cintiq come as your screen as well, and you can look what you draw as you draw directly on it, and using a tablet you have to look on you separate screen to see the result/lines? Are there tablets with an incorporated screen option, and cintiqs without? Thanks for your time

Edit: silly me, wikipedia helped

check out everything you need there.

but yes, a cintique is a tablet monitor that you draw on. a tablet is a pad that you draw on and the representing lines are placed on the screen.

Thanks!:+1:

Cherub,

I was on a very limited budget as well and I bought a Genius tablet. It was lightweight and has a fairly large drawing surface. It was around $60 on Newegg.com and you pretty much get what you pay for. It has programmable hot spots all around the border and it comes with a mouse. I have found that it works pretty well. The only thing that I dislike about it is that on occasion the pen doesn’t register…but then again, I have a puppy that chewed through the cord the first week that I got it…so that could be the reason for that. Anyways, good luck lookin’!
