2D to 3D conversion of a drawing made by the artist Chris Sanders (well know as director of Lilo and Stich movie).
Sanders often draws sirens. In this case, I’ve choosen a sketch of a siren depicting the moment she touchs land with her new legs.
Sanders have a very personal style for female characters, whith very thick legs and side eyes. I have tried to respect his style in this figurine.
Modelled in ZBrush. Painted in Substance Painter. Render with Marmoset

I also have 3D-printed this figurine. I sill have to paint it, but photos of the piece are included at the end of the post.
This is the process I used to model in ZBrush. First, i created a blockout of the body. Each bock is a Zremeshed piece. After that, I repose the blockout bebore combining and redynamesh the body. Then, I zremesh the body and repose it.
I follow the same process for the face, hand, feet…
