Chindian's 3D Sketch & WIP Thread

Ok - so i know i havent been updating this thread as much these days… been busy workin on freelance projects etc…
But recently had to do a test for a game company so I thought I’d share the construction sheet. Production time on it was approximately a day… kinda spread out over 2 days tho - cuz i was working on other projects at the same time…

Anyways - the model is really really low rez… hehe - but it was a fun distraction from things…

Like I said: subscribing! !

Aye mate. Nice face you got there. Like the render to.

Have you thought of moving her eyes, a tad, closer toghter? Think that would help allot.

Wow, chindian, I must have missed this great thread…and since the Contest begun I rarely have time to check the “normal” thread. The stuff displayed here are so wonderful. The lady’s head’s quite amazing as well :+1: :+1: Look forward for more updates from you.

really great. :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Etcher - haha - awesome.]

Belltann - thanks man! Yea - i think you’re right with the eyes… (Altho I’m not too sure if it’s more because of the camera lens - i think i rendered with a sort of ortho-lens…) I’ll try that if I pick up this model again… Thinking about continuing the Eva model instead maybe though… I have to compliment you on ur thread tho! Your ork muay thai fighter is awesome man!

SolidSnakexxx - haha - yea same here man…

Nattawat_OBBI - thanks.

Here’s a render of the Action Hero Competition that I didn’t get to finish in time…
Oh well - that’s how it goes sometimes. It was still a great experience!

Ah ok. Sad that you didnt finish in time cause it looks great  Well, you are going for dw4?

That is a great sculpt you’ve got there. I’m sorry that you weren’t able to finish quite in time!

Hey Thaddeus it came out great!! Sorry to hear you could not finish on time but at least you are on your way for an awesome new piece for your portfolio:D Good luck with work man maybe see you over on the GA forums during DW4!

Belltann - Thanks man… Yep - i think i’ll definitely try to get in on DW 4… hopefully I’ll have the time to complete it! hahah… but yea - would be a good opportunity for me to hone my game modeling skills and to figure out shaders in unreal engine…

aurick - thanks a lot man! Yea… but it was a kool experience…

GregStrangis - Thanks! I’ll see you on the battlefield for Dominance Wars then!!! WOOT! 6 days!

Great great work chindian! Hope you´ll finish Rampage… after DW.

I really like your speed sculpts on the first page of your thread…hope to see updates in the future.

Hey Chindian. I’m glad I managed to find your thread. You have some really great work here. I have seen your Elf before but I didn’t realise it was you who created it. I loved your Rampage contest entry but it was a real shame you didn’t get to finish it. Hopefully you will get to work on it more

Hey everyone - it’s been a while since I have updated this thread… but I recently finally got a little break from work to work on some personal projects… so I decided to finish up rampage.

I started blocking out some of the mechanical right arm which I had planned to do when I did the original concept…
Here’s a quick snap shot of the concept rough for the arm so far…

Hopefully I can finish up this model within the month… but that will depend on my workload, etc…

I am planning on finishing up the high rez sculpt then making a game rez model and texturing… I’m trying to pick up some more work in game modeling - so I figure this would make a good addition to my gaming portfolio…

Oh - and btw - does anyone know why I can’t edit my first post anymore?? I usually like to keep the first post updated with the latest update so people don’t have to scroll all the way to the end of the thread to see the latest update -but I can no longer edit the first post it seems…

Best regards,
-T

GREAT NEWS! I´m glad to see you´re going to finish Rampage.
I didn´t expect the mechanical arm – this is a great surprise!
Can´t wait to see the finished piece!

Regarding your question – you can edit max. 4 weeks after you´ve posted.
After that only the moderators/Pixologic staff can edit them.

Hey everyone…
Well - been pretty busy with work and life recently… but decided I needed to get back to more sculpting in zbrush - so I’m gonna start a couple of 1 hour quick sculpts to build that… Here’s the first of what will hopefully be a series… and hopefully it’ll help me get quicker and better at my zskills…

1hr Quick zSculpt - Old Man 01 - Youtube

This one was just started from my metamesh and some random old guy reference from google. hehe.
Really loose just quick and dirty… dunno if i’ll take it any further… time taken was about 40-50mins… We’ll see if I’ll continue it later… but for now - this is just the start of the 1hr series…

Best regards!

Ah, cool to see you are still working on Rampage! The mechanical arm looks interesting. The old guy looks nice. And in 1 hour. Will be good to see more as it seems you are planning to do :+1:

the old man sculpt is impressive you should be proud of that for an hour speed sculpt. Really like it

Moni-Poroni - Thanks man… that sucks - I was accustomed to cgtalk’s forums where you can edit to your heart’s delight… haha.

Captain Sensible - Thanks man… yep - I am intentionally lessening the amount of freelance work I take for the remainder of this month so I can focus more on getting more of my personal projects done.

scottleroc - Thanks man!

Ok - so did some work on the arm…
Going a bit slow as mechanical modeling isn’t really my strong point -but that’s why I’m doing this for practice… hehe. I’m open to any tips/advice.
Hope u like it so far… Hoping to finish it up soon.

I’ll have more updates shortly…

Bless.
